Clicking Checkout just takes me to blank page

Hi all

My friends site suddenly went down, after brief inverstigation I found the host had upgraded php to the 5.3.6 version and her cart was 1.3.8a so had the issues raised.

I updated her site using the patch for 1.3.8a to fix this issue (I did not upgrade her to 1.3.9 because she has so many customisations it would take ages to do the update, where as the patch was simpler)

Problem is the patch did nothing to resolve the issue.

I then decided to revert her site back to before I ran the patch, I then moved her site over to my hosting, and put the patch back in and the site was then accessible again, however when I click shopping cart or Checkout I am simply sent to home page.

On her own host, with the patch installed I can access the backend without any issues, but the front end is just a plain white page, and the source looks like its simply a blank html page with no content.

1. where is she hosted, as some hosst allow you to switch back to php4 via an override file
2. Have you tried installing the error logging utility and read this page

If you're still using an old version of Zen Cart on a new version of PHP, then your best step is to upgrade.

yeah I know but problem is I cant remember all the mods that have been made so I will probably end up causing more damage with an upgrade.

I would be happier getting the current version up and running, like I say my host supports php 4 and up, and the site is working the only links I find that do not work are the shopping cart and checkout, clicking these simply takes me to the home page, other than that login works, account details works, its very strange

and what happens if you switch to classic template, do those pages work?

to my own surprise I fixed it by turning cookie domain to false.

Once I redirect the domain name NS records I will see if this needs to go back on again but now it is working correclty with that set to false.

Your Session Directory is probably pointing to the old server.

ok all that should be sorted, weirdest thing, Google Chrome, IE and FF all display a blank page, but my blackberry shows up just fine?

I know the dns needs time to propegate but why on earth would everything be working on the BB but not on any standard browser

from an NS lookup the DNS has not yet resolved to the new hosting, so thats just confused me even more. I know I have not looked at the site on the BB before so its not a cach on the BB

Is the blackberry using the same internet connection as your computer? or is it going via your mobile provider?

it does use the wifi, but it may have used the GSM as well, not entirely sure, will test,

Nameservers have now resolved but stilll nothing.
