USPS - Do I have the latest?

Configuring a new Zen Cart install and have a lot of things working. I'm trying to get USPS shipping working and will then configure for international. I've read dozens of threads but not clear if I need to download an update to USPS or should the latest ZEN 1.39h version work? I have USPS enabled with what I think is all the relevant values and pointing at Production (USPS enabled us in prod) but I'm not getting anything back but the Table based shipping.

Be sure to follow all of the steps to:
1 Save current settings to NotePad

2 REMOVE

3 FTP the new usps.php file to:
/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

4 Install

5 Re-configure

Thanks for the confirmation. Working fine with the new module.

Might have some follow-up questions once I start to mess with options based on zones but I'll give it a go and check back if I need help.

I'm usually late to the party for discovering that my site needs a usps update. I've looked but I cannot find any news on this.

I cannot get any rate quotes for international shipping options.
It was working fine just a few weeks ago, but not now.

I've tried re-installing the usps module but the results are the same.

In the past, this has meant that USPS has updated something on their server, and now requires a slight update with zen-cart.

Or it could just be me.
We have had some server updates lately, but that seemed like an unlikely culprit to me since the domestic quotes work just fine.
Has anyone else noticed the international quotes not working?

It is working ok for me with the update referenced at the start of this thread, though if it was working a couple of weeks ago I'm sure you already had that update.

I'm still stumped on this.
Looking through my orders, I can confirm that it was working on July 24th. But not now.
Yes I had the latest version. I reinstalled the usps module anyway. No luck there.
Maybe my brain can think of something when I'm asleep...

An interesting thing came up as I was doing further testing:
This only occurs during checkout, not with the shipping estimator.
When I use an international address, the usps module displays this message:
-2147218052 - The ounces field must be less than 5 digits

With a USA address, everything seems to work just fine.

Not to jump in but I did a quick search on the 5 digit error you now reported - http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=176563&highlight=digits

Have you made ANY changes in the admin tool since it worked?

Unfortunately, I'm still using 1.3.8a.
We had some server upgrades last week, and I'm guessing that the current version would work fine. (We upgraded PHP from 5.2.14 to 5.2.17.)
I was really hoping to skip 1.3.9 and go directly to 1.5.
I know, I know... I need to upgrade. Excuses... time constraints, workload, blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, I really appreciate any help you can give.

Just for giggles and grin ... could you go to the Modules ... Shipping ... and click on USPS and do a REMOVE, INSTALL and reconfigure it ...

Ok. Not a hassle. :smile:

For more giggles and grins ... can you install the UPS shipping module and see if you get any quotes for Australia ...

Also what are you using for the Australia address? :unsure:

Tried the UPS module:

United Parcel Service (Worldwide Saver) $94.81
United Parcel Service (Worldwide Expedited) $89.77

For the Australia address, I've tried a few, all with the same results.
Currently I'm using Queensland 4814.

Could you edit the file:
/includes/modules/shipping/usps.php

and add the code in RED for:

    $shipping_ounces = zen_round($shipping_ounces, 2);
echo 'OUNCES SAYS: ' . $shipping_ounces . '<br>';

Then when you run the Estimator or the checkout_shipping ... you should see that echoed on the screen near the top ... what does it say?

OUNCES SAYS: 6.55999999999999960920149533194489777088165283203125
