changing domain name

Firstly I checked to see if same question had been asked and could find no reference .

Because of restrictions google have placed on .co.cc names (non indexing of sites) I have been forced to use myco.uk name now I have pointed name servers to reflect changes what changes to zen cart do I need to make so that .co.uk domain name is ok in zen

kind regards

Re: changing domain name

afo:

This should help https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=122

This article was very useful to me the 1st time I read it when I moved from a free server to a paid one.

But this time I don’t need to move it I just need to know if there is any .co.cc references in config files that need changing too .co.uk

Kind regards

Re: changing domain name

Understood. I thought that tutorial might mention it. Anyway, admin/includes/configure.php around lines 29-32 will need to be changed.

// Define the webserver and path parameters
  // Main webserver: eg, http://localhost - should not be empty for productive servers
  // HTTP_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg, http://www.yourdomain.com
  // HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg, https://www.yourdomain.com
  // HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg, http://www.yourdomain.com
  // HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg, https://www.yourdomain.com
  /*
   * URLs for your site will be built via:
   *     HTTP_SERVER plus DIR_WS_ADMIN or
   *     HTTPS_SERVER plus DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN or
   *     HTTP_SERVER plus DIR_WS_CATALOG or
   *     HTTPS_SERVER plus DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG
   * ...depending on your system configuration settings
   */
  define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.yourdomain.com');
  define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.yourdomain.com');
  define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://www.yourdomain.com');
  define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://www.yourdomain.com');

Similar changes in includes/configure.php around line 17.

// Define the webserver and path parameters
  // HTTP_SERVER is your Main webserver: eg, http://www.yourdomain.com
  // HTTPS_SERVER is your Secure webserver: eg, https://www.yourdomain.com
  define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.yourdomain.com');
  define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.yourdomain.com');

Re: changing domain name

What do you have in includes/configure.php for:

  define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');

and in admin/includes/configure.php for

define('DIR_FS_CATALOG',

Re: changing domain name

When I go to http://www.raveskool.co.uk/shop, I get something that doesn't appear to be Zen Cart.

Re: changing domain name

No.

In admin/includes/configure.php, you should have the following

  define('DIR_WS_ADMIN', '/shop/admin/');
  define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/shop/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_ADMIN', '/shop/admin/'');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/shop/');

In includes/configure.php, you should have

  define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/shop/');
  define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/shop/');

and further down something like

  define('DIR_FS_SQL_CACHE', '/home/public_html/shop/cache');

The part I highlighted in red above is what you need to check (whatever's right before cache). If it's not shop/, insert shop/ between whatever's before cache and cache.

Re: changing domain name

Nope files are correct let me give you my story!.

My site was raveskool.co.cc but google banned .co.cc domain names (meaning my site was not being indexed).

So I got GBBO to point my nameservers to my server then I added parked domain raveskool.co.uk to my domains .

So now I can log on with .co.uk but when I click shop it comes up raveskool.co.cc and this is the part I must rid from my site to be in the google rankings

I changed the code you asked me too and checked the rest and they are right is their somethink I am missing between my host service provider my domain name provider and zen cart

Cheers for help so far
Kind regards
craig

Re: changing domain name

Right I was up until 0200 last night trying to figure this out .

After checking forums pages of code I could not see a thing wrong, that is until I looked at a back up version of my store. After comparing the two directories I discovered in my new installation I had a configure.php and a configure1.php. I could find no reference any were on the web to why I have two configure.php files.

What’s even more stranger is I most definitely did not create the file and on changing my .co.cc to .co.uk my site was instatntly fixed site format aok .

Can anyone explain this as it makes absolutely no sense what so ever as there is no reference to it in my shop code I checked so the code is not being used .

So freaked by it I changed the file again the shop stop working this is crazy ######## man?

Fixed though, cheers for help people if anyone can explain the ghost file would be nice.

Kind regards Craig
