Adding ex VAT text after price

Hi,

I would like to know how I could add text behind my price that states Ex Vat. Because I display the price in my catalogue excluding VAT and just want the customer to know that the price is ex VAT so that he/she doesn't get a shock when the go through the checkout process when the Vat is added by die checkout process.

Regards,
jakesza

Re: Adding ex VAT text after price

Admin - Localization - Currencies - edit - Symbol right =

&Ex.VAT

Give it a try, don't know how it will look at checkout though...

Re: Adding ex VAT text after price

Hi dgent,

Thanks for the reply it worked what you said but as you also said it will go all funny in my checkout and it did...hehe

But I solved the problem I had by editing the required files and just adding Excl Vat as and html text.

The files I edited was:

  • tpl_whats_new.php
  • product_listing.php
  • new_products.php
  • tpl_product_info_display.php

They were found in my template folder under templates, Under my sideboxes folder and the includes/modules folder.

Now my all my prices on my site shows ex Vat after price and I don't have to worry about to load extra mods to get the effect I wanted.

Regards,

Jakesza

Re: Adding ex VAT text after price

You could always just add "Excl Vat" to the right symbol in your currency.

Re: Adding ex VAT text after price

Hi Jakesza, Any chance you can let us know what part of the files to edit? It appears there is no way of showing prices including and excluding vat on zen cart 1.5 :( this is the 2nd best way of doing it. Thank you! Simon

ray-the-otter:

http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=597

needs updating for 1.5 tho

That's a good addon, all working on my site now had to outsource to get someone on odesk.com to fix it for me as I was struggling to figure it out

Re: Adding ex VAT text after price

Anyone knows an option to show a label for tax inclusive or "Incl. 21% VAT" and when customer logs in and tax is not applicable that the label changes to "Incl. 0% VAT"??

In Europe my consumers pay 21% VAT and when outside EU they pay 0% VAT.
