If Google is still not supporting retaining the base element for cached pages (instead of clobbering it with their own), you will need to apply the same fixes as were needed to handle images with the FaceBook OpenGraph crawler. Option #1 or Option #2 from that post are probably your best bet at this time.

For option #2: Most themes currently use page relative links instead of zen_href_link() when linking to a CSS or JS file. This needs to be changed in your theme as part of option #2. The file in most themes generating links to CSS and JS resources is: "/includes/templates/your_theme_name/common/html_header.php".

NOTE: "zen_href_link($page_relative_link, null, $request_type);" should work nicely as long as everything in "/includes/configure.php" is correct.

Thanks again for your help. I wasn't able to reply until now, but I had tested absolute url paths on one of the css files shortly after making the original post and it worked. Again, thanks for the insight. I truly appreciate it.

Leaving it at the original is CORRECT (as per the EZ Page on page usage instructions) I wouldn't spend any time trying to "fix" that..

If you were to have entered these directly URI's in the DB (as suggested in the readme) this would not have happened..

So I think that is recognized. The posting was made to clear up the fact that the number 17 was not entered manually, and therefore had been autogenerated by the plugin. Further there was no attempt at this point to generate a wrong uri, the attempt was to generate the entry to redirect using the documented process/information, but it was not accurately implemented. All rewrites being applied were being properly considered (a rewrite for the ezpage and a rewrite for the internal uri destination) but they were not properly integrated.

So, yes, had the OP already known the need for the ezpage to internally point to a rewritten URI and that URI had to already be rewritten through database entry in order to take advantage of that aspect, then the initial quuestioning would not have occurred to bring us to this conversation.

If one wants, you CAN in fact use the native internal link. Alternatively, yes you can use the correct URI. In either case you should not attempt to generate an EZ Page URI, and instead manually add the URI to the DB following the instructions in the readme. If you do use the native page link instead of the rewritten URI, you will find that Ceon URI will apply it's magic to the EZ Page header or footer menu links and direct visitors to the correct URI.

To answer #1, you need to provide an ACTUAL link to your site.. otherwise we'll ALL be guessing.. The contents of your .htaccess file wouldn't hurt either.. Please use the code tag on the toolbar (the # symbol) to enclose your code.. (makes it easier to read, and stops the forum software from parsing your code)

My zencart developer found a conflict between this mod and Fast and Easy Checkout and the checkout does not work and she said I needed to hire a programmer. I'd like to use both mods. I have used CEON both with the free and the paid version of FEAC, and there never was a problem. I think it is safe to say the problem lies somewhere else, and not in the compatibility between the two mods.

I agree.. I think a LOT more detail on the exact nature of the issue will reveal that this is indeed the case here..

There is a known issue with Ultimate SEO URLS and FEC. I have both installed and have had to turn of Ultimate for checkout to work.

Question - can I install CEON URI Mapping module (which does not have any compatibility issues with FEC) without uninstalling Ultimate?, i.e. just leave Ultimate turned off and use Ceon?

Given that folks have both FEC and Ultimate. SEO working together says that there isn't a KNOWN issue or the author of Ultimate SEO would have included instructions to mitigate a KNOWN issue..(as he HAS indeed done before)

To answer your question, no you cannot install BOTH Ceon URI and Ultimate. SEO together..

Minor correction, they can be "installed" with the intent of replacing one with the other. They can't both be fully installed for normal operation.

Besides why would one want to leave code behind that does not serve a functional purpose. There are instructions that indicate it is possible to convert from another URI rewriter to CEON URI Mappings by keeping the other rewriter active while transitioning to CEON URI Mappings.

I thought also that USU used .htaccess rules so there would more than likely end up being a conflict of some type anyways to have both fully setup at the same time.

There IS INDEED an issue with Ultimate SEO and FEC evidenced by days of dialogue on forums and according to everyone else, including Numinix AND ihungil, author of the plugin. Obviously you have not used both plugins on site.

Thanks for the informative response, pretty much confirms what I expected but thought I would ask the question anyway - if I do install CEON I will be deleting Ultimate after the successful working of CEON with FEC on my site :). Firstly though I will seek a solution with Ultimate.

Technically and to prevent one from inaccurately saying "this doesn't work with that", the desired test should be run on a test site (non-production) before swapping back and forth and further claiming the success/failure of one with another. Sometimes it really is just a setup/install issue, but that is something to address on the other forum thread.

Be advised that swapping to CEON URI Mapping on an existing store will require some form of work to give/assign rewritten URIs to all of the existing products.

Correct, one should not have multiple "alternative" URL modules installed. One could leave the Ultimate URLs .htaccess in place (before the CEON rules), but doing so will probably cause unneccessary redirects. As part of switching - One would want to enter the old (Ultimate) URLs into the CEON URI database.

Actually both Ultimate URLs and FEC can operate together. I've posted on this topic before and Diva is one of the contributors who helped narrow down the issue (caused by Numinix altering the default Zen Cart administrative configuration flow - and - Ultimate URLs depending on the stock Zen Cart administrative page for managing configuration options). They are not incompatible with the appropriate patches to the Numinex code installed.

Any further discussion on the topic of Ultimate URLs and Numinix modifications to the Zen Cart administrative configuration process does not belong in the CEON URI thread, but over at the Ultimate URLs (or FEC) support threads.
