choosing one product where multiple choices are possible

version: v1.3.9f
I have a category called "Note Cards" there are 9 possible note cards to choose from on the page. How do I make a box for each note card so one or more, can be chosen?

Go to Trading post and notecards. There are many pictures to choose from. How would someone make a choice and have it show up in the shopping cart.

If you mean Mercantile and Notecards, those are Additional Images, not attributes. You'll need to set each image as an attribute of the main product to do what you want, as you did with the coffee. Each attribute can have an image associated with it, so it could look pretty much like that with the proper styling.
