Change define page height?

Don't know if I'm the only new zenner with this problem, but how to change the height of each of their pages within 'Define Pages Editor' indepentantly of one another.

height of define pages are dynamic depends upon how much text you have defined in it.

I have the problem where the frame of .centerColumn cuts into the buttons I have at the button of a lot of my pages..

Another user suggested that I create a file titled 'contact_us.css' with contents

.centerColumn {height: 1100px;}

in the template folder, however the frame had become way too larger - yes I had tried different heights ranging from 600 - 1100 px and it hadn't changed anything on the page...
