configure price/add-to-cart box

ZC 1.3.9 - original installation, no addons
cannot find solution in manual or forums.

Greetings: I would like some guidance as to how to configure the price/add-to-cart box.
as it is, the price is some distance above the add-to-cart selector, so that it is sometimes difficult to tell which item the price belongs to.
I want to have the price appear in a horizontal alignment to the left of the add-to-cart selector.

Upon inspecting the element, I found that the source script contains a <br> <br> that perhaps can be eliminated in the global setting.
Is that the best way to do this?
In which folder/file can that global script be changed?

The file to edit is includes/templates/yourtemplate/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php.

OOPS! Ignore that. I just realized that you may not be talking about the same thing I was thinking of. Are you talking about when a user clicks in to a category and sees a list of the products?

yes. When a user clicks on a category and the list of products in that category appear, the price and add-to-cart option-button appear together in a column, with the price above the add-to-cart option, but so far apart that it is easy to confuse the price as belonging to the item appearing above the price rather than below it. I want to reconfigure the relative position of the price and add-to-cart option-button; and globally so that the change will effect all items on the site as well as new ones.
