Won't diplay category images on main page

Hi

I hope someone can help.

I'm using Version 1.3.9
New install and i am modifying the template.

I also have the grid column layout installed

I am trying to display category images on the home page. I set the following:

Categories - Always Show on Main Page = 1
Main Page - Opens with Category = 0
Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating = 1

Nothing was displayed.

After being unable to get this to work i tried installing the categories centre box module.
I set the following and still nothing is displayed.

Categories - Always Show on Main Page = 1
Main Page - Opens with Category = blank (and tried 0)
Front-page Categories Columns Per Row

Here is a link to the site https://pegasus.terrassl.net/~michaell/

Any help would be great. I'm new at this and i'm not sure what to try next.

Thanks
