There was a security error when trying to login

I'm pulling my hair out. Just moved my site and am getting this stupid security error. I googled it and replaced my tpl_login_default.php and tpl_time_out_default.php files and even my sessions.php file and am still getting this error. I've played with my configure.php files to no avail. What is throwing this error? All my files have the 'security token' line in them.

What ZenCart Version?
Is it a fresh install or an upgraded install?

Any add ons??

I just did some more troubleshooting, if I can login with a cleared browser (resetting cache and history) but get the security error if I login, logout, and login.

Still need to know what you are using and have?

I'm getting so frustrated I'm going to throw up.

So, here is the whole scoop. I apologize for not being as clear as I should have. Zen version 1.3.9h for both directories.

Current: /products/
Replacement: /newsite/

I'm renaming /products/ to be /oldsite/ and renaming the /newsite/ to /products/

The new site works fine before I move it, but not after. Any thoughts? I tried the 'Fix Cache Key' .php file but it didn't fix anything. I can only presume that I'm getting the security error because I'm trying to move the new install into the same directory an old install was located.

What edits after the rename are you making to the 2 configure.php files??

I replace all instances of /newsite/ with /products/ in both configure.php files.

I failed to mention that they each have their own databases as well.

I just moved (really just renamed the dir) of my new site again to a different directory (/newsite2/) and it works fine in the new directory as well (after updating only my configure.php and .htaccess files). Only when I rename my new site directory to that of the existing one (/products/) do I get the token/security errors. I'm trying to think of something I could try to get it working...

Yeah, couldn't figure it out. Just have a redirect to the new directory.

I started getting this in the last week of August/first week of September--but I didn't make any edits/changes updates to anything. Users just, all of a sudden, couldn't log in. In fact I hadn't been in the admin for a while since I rarely get orders over the summer.

I'm on an older version: 1.3.8a

I get the "There was a security error when trying to login" any time I try to log in as a user... in IE 7, 8 and multiple versions of FF.

I suspect it was something GoDaddy did with their servers....

AFTER you've completed your upgrade if the problem persists, post back again.

I am having the same issue. There was no issue prior to this past week/weekend, the site was working fine. Now, all of a sudden users are not able to use the passwords that are being sent to them via the Forgotten Password tool.
I am using the latest version of ZC:

Nevermind, it still doesn't let you log in even if you use the same password that you used to register...
It seems to be related a Redirect that the site is doing when you click LOGIN on this page:
