how do I change the color to just the center Column

Hi, I wanted to change the color to just the center Column. My guess is that I have to add a new category in the css?

Best Regards,
Scott

Re: how do I change the color to just the center Column

found it but not sure if it is the best way. Just added the background color to line 363

.centerColumn, #bannerOne, #bannerTwo, #bannerThree, #bannerFour, #bannerFive, #bannerSix {
	background-color: #e9e9e9;
	padding: 0.8em;
	}

Best Regards,
Scott

Re: how do I change the color to just the center Column

Ok this makes no sense. I changed this on the main stylesheet but when I looked at my home page that uses index_home.css the changes appeared there as well. How is this possible?

Best Regards,
Scott

Re: how do I change the color to just the center Column

You just copied the main stylesheet to create index_home.css. The rules in that sheet will apply just to the main page, but the rules in stylesheet.css will apply to all pages, including the main page.

The general idea is to just add the rules to index_home.css that you want to be different on that page. For example, if you make the **body **background a certain color for all pages but the main page, you would specify that color in stylesheet.css, but then specify a different body background color in index_home.css.

Re: how do I change the color to just the center Column

I know I should have done that but didn't read that until I got half way through playing around with it to see what I could do. Was going to go back and delete the rest out of it later since some of the changes were global. I got the home page most of the way done and then changed the stylesheet to index css and then consentrated on the rest. Everything worked fine until this. I took out totally the ```
.centerColumn, #bannerOne, #bannerTwo, #bannerThree, #bannerFour, #bannerFive, #bannerSix {
background-color: #e8b95f;
padding: 0.8em;
}

Not quite. That rule is still in stylesheet.css, which, again, applies to all pages, including the main page.

Whatever you want to happen differently has to be added to index_home.css.

Re: how do I change the color to just the center Column

Oh, Dang I don't know why I didn't think of that. It seems so simple now. I added it back into the index css and changed the color to transparent. That did it.

Thanks

Scott
