I broke 'banners. Clean files go where?

Hi all. I sincerely hope I am not double posting but can't find similar topics.
O.K. I am running vers; v1.3.9h
I have a number of addons installed, will list if required.
I have been modifying the site for some time, initially had some problems understanding the CUSTOM template idea and believe I may have corrupted a file in the early stages of creating a template/theme. I hadn't noticed because every thing was working ok. I have only picked it up now as I'm happy with the overall look and feel of my site and need to start adding content. Now I find that when trying to create a banner 'campaign' it fails and returns a server error.
What I am trying to find out is a list of files/folders pertaining to banners and working thereof in order to replace with clean Zen files. I hope this explains where I'm at adequately. Also, I apologize if theres an existing thread, I really did look.
BTW site is still in design phase, scheduled to launch on 1st Oct so I am a little pressed for time.
Cheers to all, Happy Zenning.

Ummmm, Could anyone advise re banner manager files, later today I will begin scanning folders but I'm not confident of my .php knowledge. If necessary I would be willing to pay for an assist with this as I am pressed for time. I cant find any related threads, the closest I have found mentions recent patches but that doesn't apply in this instance. I just need to know where to look so that I'm not blundering about, knocking over the chinaware.... lol
thanks for great resource btw

  1. Where is this error occuring, from what you are saying it sounds as though it is happening in the backend.? Yes

if yes
then it is unlikely to be your template because the template doesn't touch admin, there are no override files in admin
are debug files appearing in your /cache folder
what is the server error
have a read of these two tutorials
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=82 (yes i know you aren't getting a blank page but it explains the troubleshooting, which is applicable)
and if your server error is a 500 error
https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=63

if no
Then try switching to the classic template and see if it works

Thanx for reply. :D
Hi, sorry for the delay, I couldn't remember my forums password. D'OH!.
Yes to the first, it's a problem from admin and Yes its a 500 server error.
Cache log shows,

[30-Sep-2011 10:37:00] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function zen_date_raw() in /home2/gomicroc/public_html/storetools/banner_manager.php on line 65

Haven't tried classic template, I have no doubt it will work. lol.
language files were edited as per directions for non-US based date format. I rechecked both those files and they 'seem' fine to me.

When editing the language files you would have altered code to do with "zen_date_raw" what happens if you replace your edited file with the original un-edited version

my assumption is it would be this file

admin/includes/languages/<YOUR_LANGUAGE>.php

Re: I broke 'banners. Clean files go where?

A quick update, Thanks for reminding about the cache files, I had overlooked them.
I have overwritten both the english.php files in my custom folder with originals, banners now working.
Will re-examine the date alterations. Carefully.
Is it possible that changing the raw date format has an undesired effect on banners, or is it more likely my text editor? (notetablite) not saving it as it appears.
Sorry about this, html I am comfortable with, CSS I understand and can work with, PHP is a mountain I have yet to conquer.

I am in New Zealand, we use the english date format rather than the US so i regularly change those files, never been a prob for me, more likely your copying, notetablite should be fine i think.

Re: I broke 'banners. Clean files go where?

A quick follow up. I was copying and pasting from the support thread. The text in support thread is pre-formatted and my text editor was stripping the pre tags. The whole lot was ending up on one line.
