Deleting countries

What happens if you delete all the countries except the US? what kind of restriction does this put on a customer who wants to order?

Well...I suppose customers out of country wouldnt be able to order! :wink:

No, I sell restricted items. I can only sell to the continental US. I was hoping to avoid editing the Zones code. I can remove all but the continental US states that way correct?

You could create a Zone Definition and in the DETAILS add the Country/Zones that are allowed then add those Zones to your Shipping modules to block shipping anywhere else ... and if Grandma in the UK cannot buy for Tiny Tim in the US, then add that Zone also to your Payment Modules ...

Now, if you want to later expand where you can ship to and buy from, you have the full countries to choose from ...

I just deleted them directly in the database. Works like a charm.

Well, I have nothing but the US left and I removed all but the 48 states and DC. that should work right? I intend on testing 49+ different state addresses to make sure it will accept them all.

I thought about this but the products I am selling are guns of all types, sound suppressors, and other restricted items that the ATF will not allow me to send out of the country. But yes, I did think of the Zone definitions. Tiny Tim may not be able to get a crutch but if Grandma really loves him, she can send him an M1 carbine with a scope and rails. lol

But now ... poor Grandma cannot buy the M1 carbine with a scope and rails for Tiny Tim because now the United Kingdom is removed and she cannot create an account that will work with the Payment modules cause you removed all of the countries and such ... :cry:
