Adding Price and Shipping

How would I add price and shipping price together to make price displayed on product info price+shipping=price displayed?

Displaying shipping on the product INFO page is, in reality, pointless. Unless of course you intend selling only ONE product at a time, to a customer.

Shipping is generally calculated on the basis of the COMBINED number of products ordered, so the logical place to see the shipping is at SHOPPING CART stage. And at this level, you can configure Shipping Estimator to display on the page, providing accurate shipping costs for the whole consignment.

It is very difficult to figure in shipping with the Product as each Product is later combined with the order to be calculated together ...

You might put a note on your product _info page to add to cart for shipping prices as then they are encouraged to add to cart and you do not have to do all kinds of calculations that are normally done by the Product being added to the cart ...

The problem I have is that my clients shipping is in a product feed and he wants to be able to display prices inclusive of shipping.

So base price + shipping price = price displayed

Unfortunately in the feed the shipping prices are separate from the base price which means they have to be merged.

The reason for this is because he wants to display the products with free shipping.

And using the products_price and shipping price from the client feed will always add up properly when 2 or more products are added to the cart and you go to the checkout_shipping using table rates? :unsure:

How is the feed data managed before it is brought into zencart?

If it is put into a spreadsheet, then simply add the product price and the shipping price via a formula in the spreadsheet, get the result, and use that as the product price.

In other words, get the data the way you want it using standard formulae features in programs like MSExcel, or OpenOffice
