NO download links - need help quickly please - grand opening is this weekend

For some reason, when someone does an order in my store (virtual product downloads) and their checkout total is zero (because using a coupon or downloading a free product) their download links do not show up. If they have a dollar total, the download links show up fine. We installed a Wishpot module last night, and uninstalled a wishlist module that wasn't working correctly, and I think we may have overwritten or deleted something we shouldn't have because that was about when the download issue started. Anyone know what it might be? We have new freebies that have hit the store and will have lots of downloads this weekend and they aren't working.

Can anyone help me with this? I just keep getting more and more emails with people who can't download, it is so frustrating.

What do you have set on the Payment Modules for the Order Status ...

Also check the Configuration ... GV/Coupons on the Order Status:

Default Order Status For Zero Balance Orders
When an order's balance is zero, this order status will be assigned to it.

When these orders come in that are not available on links ... what is there Order Status?

What are your settings in the Configuration ... Attribute Settings?

Are the Downloads on the Orders or are they missing?

status on these orders that are coming in show Delivered

The download links are not there at all if it is zero
it just comes up with a screen that says Thank You We Appreciate your Business Then it has the info I typed in on the page back when we set up the store saying that the products are virtual and they can download immediately if they paid with Paypal, then it has the box with the notify me of update on this product. That's it.

On the Order, in your Admin, what do you see on these orders ... do you see the Downloads listed?

Can you reproduce this issue on any specific Product?

If you look in the Attributes Controller do you have green dots on the Downloads?

How are you fixing these Orders?

When I go to Customers>Orders it shows delivered, but no, it doesn't show the download links. It doesn't show the attribute on the order

Yes, the attributes are showing linked properly with a green button by them when I look at the attributes

Again, this is only on zero balance orders, it still all seems to work correctly on orders that actually have a $ total, but not on a free download or when someone uses a coupon that brings their total to zero.

I haven't been fixing them because I can't figure out how to...................

Your WishPot addon is breaking it.

The page normally starts with a <form> tag, and then draws the product info, add-to-cart button, and the attribute selection choices, and then closes the form with a </form> tag.

But you inserted the WishPot piece which stuffs another <form>....</form> pair inside that before the attributes pieces, making the main form no longer valid, and skipping the attributes, so they don't get added to the order.

Thanks DrByte, that was it! I had my tech guy move the Wishpot button and now they both work.

One more question though, is there a way I can update the download links on the orders already made so they can now download or will they all have to re-add to their cards and download again?

There's no built-in facility for adding things to peoples' orders.

You could experiment with the various "edit orders" addons ... I've not used them to know whether they allow for attribute editing, which is what you'd need in this case.
