Some noobie questions

hello guys, im kieran from england :)

i am running version : you are presently using: v1.3.9h

Im currently trying to set up a small company selling led lights, however im having trouble with some of the zen cart options, having only created static sites before, ive never acctually created a dynamic site, or owned my own hosting before :) so all this is new to me...

Anyway, after reading many tutorials, ive managed to install my zen cart software, and still need to configure a couple of items, which is bugging me alot :(

1st - i really need to change my currency, currently its in USD which is a pain because im in england and my target market is the uk, so i need this in GBP, i tried this via a tutorial, however its still the same, i have also CTRL+F5 to clear the cache, and its still the same.
2nd: how can you change the zencart site? ive installed it, however, it seems to have installed with the /zencart, which is also annoying :(
3rd, how can i edit the zen cart site, to incorperate some colors from my current site listed above

1. Admin --> Localisation --> Currencies.

Click on the GB Pound line
Click edit in the right column
Tick the box that says "set as default currency"
Now click update.

You should be back at the currency list now
Click the "update currencies button" now
If it has worked GBP should appear as 1.00000
and USD should be some other amount (but not 1.00000)

2. Thats because you have installed into a subdirectory, you need to move everything out od that directory into the root

3. You can either install a template, there are some nice free ones by picaflor azul
   heres a site that shows most of the free ones available for download in the add-ons section

   or you can make your own, If you are going to use the green one that comes preinstalled make a copy of it or it will be overwritten in the next upgrade

hello neil, thankyou for helping me, i have solved 2/3 problems....

im still stuck on how you edit the website, isit wysiwyg editing or coding? i dont mind either, but i need to be sure of what im editing? and where it should be :)

Not quite sure what you mean by "editing"...

Information (data) is added to the database via a range of "input screens" in the admin panel.

Layout and styling is done largely with the CSS file(s).

A novice can make minor "edits" to parts of the php code to get a desired effect.

hello neil, i mean changing things like the top banner from the whole Zencart thing, and changing color schemes etc, where can i find the files relating to these?
