Started from scratch but want to copy product descriptions

I could not get my first store attempt to work (go live) because there were so many errors - so I decided to literally start all over with a clean slate and hopefully no errors this time around.

I copied all the images to the new sites folders. I would like to be able to import from the old sql the actual products under each category with their descriptions b/c there are probably at least 100 items and that is way to time consuming to redo. I am hoping that the errors were not here as to not ruin the new site.

I am wondering two things. The original sql was called zencartgalaxy and the new sql is the same name. So i am not sure how to go about doing this b/c if I upload the old database into the PHP i do not want it to overwrite the new clean database. Also what items from the old sql would i import into the new sql.

If this process screws up the new store can I undo it and go back to the clean sql before I upload the old products from the sql that was screwy from the first website.
