Changing central banner to text only

Hello

I am still trying to help a Zen Cart user (version 1.3.9h) with his site: http://www.barnwoodcomputers.co.uk/

Essentially, he wants to remove the large banner with sliding images and replace it with straight text.

I can remove the banners easily by altering the database. What I can't do, really because I don't understand fully the whole Zen system with it's proliferation of templates, is to replace this banner system by straight HTML text.

Can anyone help please?

Thank you

Martin

Re: Changing central banner to text only

Are you talking about the scrolling images? If so, just uninstall the add-on mod that produces it.

The best way to learn is to try stuff. But, back it up first.

Re: Changing central banner to text only

Thank you.

What I have tried so far is to comment out that part of templates (and there are a number) that contain the slider controls, so as to hopefully produce a blank box for replacement text.

Unfortunately, none of my efforts have worked presumably because I am trying to edit the wrong templates, but with a number of templates containing these controls, and with me not having a visual idea of how this page is made up nor of the name of template or file that brings the banner box up, I end up thrashing around in the dark.

I have looked at the file tpl_index_default.php which I suspect is the key but.............
