Login as Real Name

I'm looking at a way to login with a username (or real name) rather than an email address. Reason being that some members of a new project don't have email (I know...). Any good advice before I go fishing? Can't seem to find anything in the forum or addons... Fresh install of v1.3.9h.

You'd have to rewrite the login process. It would be a lot easier to provide those members with email addresses.

Excellent advice. Would it be advisable to allow multiple users with the same email address? That way I could use a [email protected] address, when it came to renewal time then an admin could receive all the ones without an address. We are talking less than 300 members.

Since the email address is the primary account identifier, it isn't possible to use the same address for multiple accounts.

I'm not exactly clear on what you're trying to accomplish.
