suddenly unable to find a USPS shipping quote

Hello,

I am running 1.3.9h.

I just received an email from a customer that is getting the following error: We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)

I had this error in the past for international orders, so I updated the shipping module and the problem was resolved. This new issue just popped up, with no changes to the add-ons to the cart. Any suggestions?

Yes, I installed that module when I had issues with international shipping.

Can you test by making the same order as your customer and using their address information to see if you get the same problem?

I have tried that and received the same error.

Could you temporarily turn on the UPS shipping module and just check if you get a quote?

Interesting. This is what I receive for UPS: We are unable to obtain a rate quote for UPS shipping.
Please contact the store if no other alternative is shown.

They both should be using port 80 ...

What do your emails read on the USPS ... you have the debug set to email ...

That's the funny thing. They have NOTHING in them.

All I get is:

(You can turn off this debug email by editing your USPS module settings in the admin area of your store.)

Have your hosting provider check for issues with port 80 outbound ... as that is what this is leaning towards or you may have been hacked ...

Again, getting with your hosting provider on this would be a good idea ...

I have done that. They are a little slow to respond. Hopefully they can get this taken care of. I appreciate your help!

I am being told by the webhost that port 80 is open for incoming and outgoing traffic. Any other suggestions?

Could you run from your site:
/extras/ipncheck.php

and see what comes up?

I received a message back from my hosting provider. They had some rule in their firewall configured incorrectly. It is now working again. Thank you so much for your help!
