Will Zen Cart work for my 5000 product catalog?

I am looking for a ecommerce solution for our custom nail printing business, the problem is I have over 5000 nail images designs to choose from in different catagories of nails. Is this something that zen cart could handle?

I want the user to be able to view a catalog of all the different designs (around 5000) and then select which sets they want.

I also want them to be able to upload their own image which we can then print on the nails for them.

Will zen cart ba able to handle all of this? Is there a suggestion out there for what add ons might be necessary in order to achive this?

Based on your description, Zen Cart should be able to handle your requirements without any problem.

And no addons will be required for the functions you describe. Of course, you might want additional functions that might require addons.

From a marketing and design angle, the question is do you need to show all 5000, as it may bemuse the user with such choice...

Or if you do want to show all 5000, make it very easy to use, ie maybe use no sideboxes so its a full width product listing with say 10 to a page width so a customer could see a few hundred on a page at once, and again not too many categories that the customer would have to click back and forth through..

Also, Image Handler mod would be useful so all the thumbnails are as small in memory as possible for quick load times.
