Flash (?) Changing images on homepage

Hey guys. I'd like to add one of those flash (I think) image changers to my homepage. I don't know what they are called or how to create/implement them. These are the things you see on some store site's entry page that show one image for a given set of time then transition to the next image and so on.

Can someone tell me what these are called so I can look into how they are created and implemented?

They're usually called sliders or slideshows.

Perfect! Already found a site that has a tutorial on adding it to a zencart store.

Check the Free Software Add Ons (link at top of page). There may be something there you can use.

If you use flash to create the slideshow you lose a lot of mobile and tablet users. Javascript is a better idea.
