Admin section lags every minute... Please help!

Has been like this for a while now. I got my host to switch servers but it does not seem to be the hosting.

The site is fast but the admin section lags.

Heres How: Everything works fast and then suddenly it just slows down and the page wont load whatever I clicked on. It waits and waits. I have to stop and then reclick the link after 30 seconds and it works for a minute or 2 and then all over again.

I have read the forums and adjusted the time zones, I have cleared the log, optimized the database but still the same.

It has been driving me crazy. Would really appreciate any help.

-Zen Cart Version: 1.5
-Clean install
-easy populate
Time Zone Fix Module
basic_uk_mail_2-2-2.zip
nochex_payments_module__apc_1-5.zip
-No layout problems.
-No Server Problems it has been tested on different servers.
-Yes looked into FAQ and related posts.
-The problem started about 2 months ago. It started when I was using 1.38a. No updates or mods were applied when it started, it suddenly appeared on a perfectly working site. I installed a new store all fresh with the above mods and this continued to happen on this new install on a new domain.

Have you tried a clean install without any mods?
And then progressively start adding back mods until it suddenly breaks?

And what exactly is your hosting company saying? Or are they just blaming the software instead of looking to see what exactly is happening TO the server BY the software so that they could give you a clue about what EXACTLY the actual problem?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I contacted them and they stated that there are no problems or errors. The cache file holds no errors and also the server log has none.

My problem started randomly back when I had 1.38a. Nothing was changed and the problem was there suddenly on a working site.

Ill contact my isp aswell and see if its them as this is quite annoying. Ill get back to you guys if I find anything.

When this slow down is happening ... what do you see on the server load times in the Tools ... Server Info ...

1. Are you going to set up another cart, from scratch and progressively rebuild it to find out what triggers the problem?

2. Does your hosting company tell you anything about the server CPU load spiking incredibly high? or apache or other processes abending or crashing and self-restarting? or high numbers of MySQL queries?

3. On a whim, have you tried setting Admin->Configuration->My Store->Version Check to false? If changing that suddenly solves the problem, then the hosting company's webservers are misconfigured, or you've been hacked and someone has altered the code that is affected by that function.

Normal loading is: load average: 2.47, 2.32, 2.02
The above one took about 2 secs to load

The below one took about 2 minutes to load but the results are as below:
When the lag happens it is: load average: 1.78, 2.16, 2.00

When this happens, the loading icon just spins round and round. I have to stop and then reclick the link for it to work or I have to wait 2-3 mins.

1. This problem was there before I installed any mods, when the site was a fresh install.
2. They stated there was no problems. Thats why I insisted to be moved to another server in europe instead of USA which did not solve the problem.
3. Yes you mentioned this in another post aswell which I tried together with setting the time zone.

My 1st solution attempt was to contact my ISP and they said there was no problems. I think they lied though because there is nothing left but the ISP.

I will do some more extensive testing with my blackberry instead of the office wifi and get back to you guys.

For the next couple days I will use my admin with my office 1st and as soon as it gets stuck I will switch to using my BB as a modem and see how that works out. If its my ISP ill be so happy I found the solution but so mad that they lied...

Recent testing so far has shown I have no lag with using my BB as a modem and my WiFi actually lags. Funny thing is that it lags mostly when using my admin section compared to when using other sites.
