home page category links

On my home page, the side box has a list of all my categories and subcategories. After my opening text, the same categories are listed as links. How can I remove these? See attached photo.

If I understand the question, check Admin - Configuration - Product Listing - Show SubCategories on Main Page while navigating

Where did your template come from? Does it work if you switch to the Classic template?
Seeing it live may help us diagnose this.

I'm currently working on changing template from the Cherry Zen template to the Black Pure Template, both of these templates were downloaded from the free template resource linked to from the Zen Cart main site.

I don't know if it works in classic but it doesn't work in either of the Cherry or Black templates mentioned above.

They are currently displayed overlapping the main nav buttons here which is why I was looking into turning them off.

That's a completely different problem. What you want is to turn off the categories-tabs menu in Configuration > Layout Settings.

The way I read the above, made me think it was the same thing. Even though I couldn't really see enough detail in the picture to be 100% sure.

Just another quick one - is it easy enough to change their position if I decide I want them back?
