There was a security error when trying to login

Hi,

Yesterday I discovered that no one could login to my store and it flagged up the security warning also no one could create an account.

After 5 hours of trying to find the cause I managed to get it to work by editing the root .htaccess file removing the following lines ..

<IfModule mod_setenvif.c> <IfDefine SSL> SetEnvIf User-Agent ".*MSIE.*" \ nokeepalive ssl-unclean-shutdown \ downgrade-1.0 force-response-1.0 </IfDefine> </IfModule>

Can any one explain what this code does? I may have seemed to have solved it but I'm concerned that that I haven't really discovered the root cause of it.

Many thanks.

Jeff

Re: There was a security error when trying to login

Native Zencart does NOT have a htaccess file in the root folder, so just where that one came from and why it is there needs to be established.

I am not familiar with the structure of htaccess control commands, so I cannot assess what this set of commands does for you.

Who put that there, and for what purpose?

Re: There was a security error when trying to login

The .htaccess file adds an extra layer of security. I modified the file myself based on a common example. The thing is my store has been working fine for the last 2 months and all of a sudden it developed the problem which is strange.

Anyway all seems well now.
