Change a form field from TEXT to TEXTAREA? Short_Description module

Hello, I installed the Short_Description module and its working nicely BUT I want it to display as a TEXTAREA instead of just the short text box.

I changed the underlying table field to TextArea.

How do I change the admin edit product or add product form to use a larger text area field instead of the default text field?

I would have thought the same technique would do. Can you not change the form input for the admin just the same?

If that's not possible then I'd admit I'm not too sure what the short_description module is. So it's hard to understand exactly what your problem is. Can you explain a little clearer save me going and finding out.

Hello, thanks for your reply. When I change the input to the same as the mail description it DOES make it large HTML editor.

The problem with that is this field is intended for a Google product export feed. So I don't want any formatting, and the editor always adds at least a <P> tag to the text.

All what I really want is a text box that has multiple lines and is wider. But I don't know how to change it.

In my collect_info.php page it is displayed with this code here:

Ah, OK. I'm still not 100% sure what exactly your doing because I'm not familiar with the mod you talked about. But if it's something to do with adding descriptions for products and you don't want the html around whatever you put in there then you could try:

Go to your admin -> configuration -> my store -> HTML Editor

and change the setting to NONE

Not quite. You see, I DO want the HTML editor on the normal description. But I DO NOT want it on the short_description field.

Not sure how to make it appear on one, but not on the other in the same form.

See the code you posted... does removing the class="mainUPC" from one of the <td> work?

Thank you but no, it does not. I made that class to make the UPC fields standout.
