favicon wont work

for some reason my favicon wont show. I uploaded the facicon.ico to the public_html folder.
the image shows here http://www.gothic-twilight.com/favicon.ico
but not on the main home page.
whats gone wrong???

It displays in Firefox. Getting favicons to work in Internet Explorer can be a hit-or-miss thing. It will probably show up eventually.

I tried to load you favicon but my graphics application says that it's a .png file with the wrong extension. To create a valid favicon, try this link http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/. After you upload it to the public_html folder, clear your browser's cache and refresh the page. As Stevesh said, it's a bit funny with IE.

This is a common mistake. Many assume that all they need to do is change the file extension.
