Product contents deleted when i try to edit it

Hello,

I have 3 sites running Zen Cart (each one using the same version of Zen Cart (currently 1.3.9f) and the same templates.

Two of them work perfectly with no issues, but the 3rd one seems to have developed a strange bug.

Initially when i try to go to edit a product i get the error message "Mozilla < 1.3 Beta is not supported!" if i click ok, i am then taken into the product listing page - but the contents of the product listing is all deleted.

I have changed the text editor to text rather than HTML which removed this error message, but the contents of the product listing is still being deleted each time i try to edit it.

I have no idea why this is happening, why its started or where to even start with resolving this issue, but obviously i cant carry on with it being like that!

Can any one suggest anything i can look at.

I have tried this on both Google Chrome and also I.E and it is happening on both browsers.

First, the "Mozilla < 1.3.Beta" issue is a result of using HTMLarea, which is outdated. It's been removed in the v1.5.0 release, with the suggestion that you install the CKEditor addon from the Addons area instead.

Second, v1.3.9g, and maybe 1.3.9f?, had a bug that was fixed in v1.3.9h that would cause product names/descriptions to not show on-screen when going into edit mode, if an old version of PHP was in use. Upgrading to v1.3.9h fixes that issue.

I have upgraded to v1.3.9h and when i go to edit a product, everything is still being deleted from the listing!

When i go into edit mode, both the product title and also the description disappear. :oops:

Any ideas what else may be causing that or how to fix the issue?

Never changed character set,so whatever that is set too

Given that PHP4 is obsolete, I would strongly recommend upgrading PHP.

Upgraded to PHP5 and all is working great again!

Yes, the exact same thing happened to me! Took me awhile to figure it out because I'm setting up a new install of ZenCart and I didn't know if all the data imported badly or what was happening. :shocking:

I do have the latest version of PHP, installed yesterday. So that's not it. :no:

You said, "Mozilla" ... and I use Chrome. So I dropped Chrome and used IE-9 instead. With IE-9, the product editor works fine. :clap:

It's a relief to know what's causing it. I hate to give up Chrome but it's been doing some weird things lately. Chrome doesn't approve of my secure certificate either, but IE does. :blink:

(I know the smileys are childish, but you've got some I haven't seen.)
