Bullets on bulleted text not showing

I am entering my products and when I am giving the product a description, I sometimes use bulleted text. In the preview screen you can see the bullets but when you go live to your site, there are no bullets.

I am copying and pasting the text from my original website so that I don't have to do all that typing all over again. I paste the text first into Notepad. It has all the HTML code for bullets which I remove so that you see nothing but plain text and then copy that to the products add text box in my admin. Then I add the bullets there.

What is wrong with this procedure that the bullets are not showing?

includes/templates/your template/css/product_info.css then place the code at the end of the file. DON'T USE WORD TO EDIT use note pad.

Re: Bullets on bulleted text not showing

You may not have have product_info.css in your template/css folder. It's not a standard css file to have from default.

I have attached one for you. save it to
site_name/includes/templates/your_template/css

hope it helps. Billy :cool:

Today I am trying something different. Read the install.txt Read the FAQ Read the forum for answers; Then Install the mod. ;-)

I did not have the file so I downloaded Billy's. I assume you added the necessary code as it contains this code:

@charset "utf-8";
/* CSS Document */
#productDescription li {
list-style:disc;
}

But is still does not work; no bullets

stab in th dark here but try just this part of the code #productDescription li {
list-style:disc;
}

most of the styling is in the stylesheet.css file

Re: Bullets on bulleted text not showing

Find this in your stylesheet and remove the red part:

ul{margin:0;padding:0;display:block}#productDescription ul
li{margin-right:2px;padding:2px
0 2px 17px;color:#000;list-style:none;font-size:1.1em}

li{margin-right:2px;padding:2px
0 2px 17px;color:#000;list-style:none;font-size:1.1em}

Well that took care of the bullet appearing problem, now they do not indent the way they show in the preview. The bullets are to the far left as far as they can go. Indenting more in the text editor does nothing.

Re: Bullets on bulleted text not showing

You'll have to fiddle with the margin and padding in the ul and/or li elements in the same rule to move the bullets around relative to the text.

Re: Bullets on bulleted text not showing

my stylesheet.css contains the following:

#productDescription {
margin:0;
padding:0 0 2px 0;
line-height:1.3em;
}
#productDescription ul {
margin:0;
padding:0;
display:block;
}
#productDescription ul li {
margin-right:2px;
padding:2px 0 2px 17px;
color: #000;
font-size: 1.1em;

Which productDescription's margin and padding do I alter. There are three. The last one is the one I previously modified.

Re: Bullets on bulleted text not showing

FukienMan:

my stylesheet.css contains the following:

#productDescription {
margin:40px;
padding:0 0 2px 0;
line-height:1.3em;
}
#productDescription ul {
margin:40px;
padding:0;
display:block;
}
#productDescription ul li {
margin-right:2px;
padding:2px 0 2px 17px;
color: #000;
font-size: 1.1em;

Which productDescription's margin and padding do I alter. There are three. The last one is the one I previously modified.

I set the margins in the first two #productsDescriptions to 40px (in red)
It looks fine now. I hope that was the right thing to change and does not make other margins in the descriptions go funky. So far so good :flex:
