Full size attribute photos no longer an option?

I upgraded by 1.3.9a installation to h.

Now, when I go to add a color attribute (Catalog > Attributes Controller) I have the option of uploading a swatch file, but NO option for uploading a full size version of the photo (which I had previously).

Further, the swatches do not appear with the product is viewed, although the color options are listed in a pull-down menu.

What's causing this?

Is there an addon that controls this that I need to upgrade as well?

Just to clarify -- when I'm editing color attributes, I no longer have an option to upload an image for "Attributes Full Image"

Attribute images need to be uploaded to the /images/attributes folder, it is added through the Attribute Controller. It must be added to each attribute and product ie. if both product 1 and product 2 have the color attribute with images, it must be added both under product 1 and product 2. The only work around I have found is using sql patch to update all attribute properties at once.

The attribute image has only 1 size, there are add-ons like hover and zoom that will shrink the image and zoom into the larger size.

This cart (or rather the version that I upgraded from) has the ability to upload two images for each attribute -- a thumbnail and a separate, larger image. I'm guessing then, that this must be a customized addon?

Related to this -- I'm also finding that the image swapping behavior appears to be specific to certain categories. For example if I place a product with attributes in category A, the product will show with the attribute thumbnails. If I move that product to category B, the thumbnails disappear and all I see is a small version of the product main photo.

Where would I look to change this so that the behavior is consistent through all categories?

I am not familiar with versions prior to 1.3.9h so I can't comment on if it is an add-on or not.

When you "move" a product from category A to B are you copying the product with all the attributes and then deleting the product from A, or just adding the product into B. If you use the copy (with all attributes) method, the attributes options (price, images etc.) will be duplicated. But if you just simply add the product and attributes to the new category they will not.

After some more examination, I believe this is a piece of customized coding done by the original developer of the site. And it appears to be called into action on a category-specific basis by code on the product_display page.
