Main Page Width differs from rest of site!

Hi I am running 1.3.9h, with Image Handler 3, Column layout grid 1.3.8,CSS Horizontal Dropdown Menu With jquery and wishlist_09.

Having trouble with my Main Page width. I have altered it via Defines Editor. My store width is set to 840px but the page is showing as 882px. I have tried all of the fixes in the forum including changing width to 100% and then setting the px to 840 but nothing seems to work - All other pages seem to work fine.

I want to show a banner in the footer position but this is completely misaligned in the main page but shows fine in all other pages.

I can't tell exactly where the problem is coming from, but I'd bet it has to do with the content you copied and pasted from some WYSIWYG editor. This is never a good idea, as the (considerable, in this case) amount of inline styling these editors add to the code often conflicts with what you're trying to do in the stylesheet or elsewhere.
