Adding extra sidebar similar to categories

Is there any way I can add an extra sidebox to show vehicle makes rather than all my product categories?

I have managed to duplicate the categories and name it vehicles but obviously it still pulls "categories" from the db.

If i can show a list of makes then linking to models in one sidebox that would be great, just not sure how i would have it all linked.

E.g. i want to show:

VEHICLES

x Make
x Model
x category
x parts available

then categories to display products as normal but not displaying makes or models.

Or if you want category-like listings of makes/models/etc., you can use Categories Dressing with the bundled option for the ch_categories sidebox, activating both of them, and adding settings to display different content in different boxes. I have advised others on this, like adi2009 - search the Cat Dressing support thread.

The product finder will require less customization to work correctly.

I am just trying to get the cat dressing figured out at the moment.

I think this and the normal categories will be perfect if i ever figure out how to pick the required!
