Songseng:

In Tools -> Easy Populate 4 on the right-hand side where the info columns are will be an entry for user defined fields. This is
where you will see True/False next to your field name.

You are probably missing something simple. Send me a pm and I'll take a look at your CSV file off site.

-chadd

Chadd, you are right, I'm just missing one last important step > to 'import' the file after the 'upload'.
Truly sorry for the careless.

So just to clarify here.
I added the 'products_family' into Congfiguration > EP4 > User Defined Products Fields.
In the Tool > EP4 > User Defined Products Fields > products_family: TRUE (showing on right hand panel)
Export > download > upload > import are working well.

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

Hello Chad,

I'm trying to integrate the store that I maintain with Google Shopping.

I haven't been successful with any of the feed generators and Google has changed their feed requirements lately too, so those are out of date.

I've used EP4 a ton in the recent year and it's helped tremendously.

I wonder if it's possible to make EP4 generate something out of the ordinary?

Google requires an attribute for each product that EP4 does not currently support/generate, the 'item link' attribute.

Understandably, their feed requires a direct link to each product. From what I understand of the ZenCart db structure, the item link is not handled in any particular way as an attribute.

Can you hack that in some how?

My only other option seems to be URL re-writing to universalize links (if that's even possible) and just linking to https://www.site.com/products/id=14384

That seems way more cumbersome than an EP4 solution.

Just let me know!

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

All I would need is for EP4 to export the back-end product_id that corresponds to each product. I could take it from there. :)

Have you considered Ceon's URI mapping tool? This would give you what I think you are looking for. The next step would be a way to export that URI...

Sorry for the late response. Been buries, and it seems since the new website facelift that I don't consistently get notified of new posts :(

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

Thanks Chad,

I'm making some progress. Apparently, I can just link to http://www.site.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11022 for each product.

I've been able to query the db to generate product ids along with the other data I need for this.

I'm sure there is an easier way though. :)

You should read through the first couple of pages. This should help you with attributes. For quantity discounts, create one from within the Admin, then export the sheet to get a format for how to use.

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

So I'm evaluating/testing mass product uploader add-ons. I am looking at using this with Stock by Attributes, and need to be able to update the stock with product attributes table. There is a variant of the 1.2.x version of Easy Populate which was modified to update the SBA table.. But is seems that EP 4.0 is very different so I cannot use EP version as a "template" to achieve what I am trying to achieve.

I've read through this ENTIRE support thread (yep ALL 51 pages as of this writing..) I know that these threads: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...t-Thread/page5
http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...-Thread/page21 speak to adding new product fields, and I also know that Easy Populate now supports custom product table fields (rendering those two threads obsolete??) But there is nothing that speaks to uploading product data into other tables..

Hoping this is doable.. How would one go about updating fields in other Zen Cart tables with Easy Populate??

Hi Diva!

Well, the custom products fields only work with the products table. If the is a special table for stock by attributes, I'd need the details on that. Depending on the complexity of that add on, it may be "easy" to add a new table to the logic ... send me a pm and perhaps we can work on this off line. I am a tad busy at the moment, but there is always a free time here and there...

You read all 51 pages? :0

Hello back!!!
waves furiously
Yep there is a special table for SBA, and I will PM you my e-mail address and we can discuss offline as BOTH of our schedules permit!

chadderuski:

You read all 51 pages? :0Yes sir I did!! I ALWAYS read through support threads of mods I'm interested in using.. This way I get a sense of the history of the add-on, a sense of how stable it is or isn't (I wasn't worried about stability with this one knowing it was your baby:smile:), and mostly to get acquainted with things before I dive in..

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

Hey everyone, please help me! I've been trying to do this for quite some time now.
I used the basic attributes download to create option names and values for each of my items. I made them all read only because it's just some attributes I needed to add for Google Merchant center.
I uploaded the file, clicked import, and it says that all my items are updated. But then when I go into attributes controller to check or if I go to the actual product page, none of the attributes are showing!

I've attached a picture to show you that Easy Populate says my products were updated. Thanks for the time and patience!

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

I really need some help. I have 2 issues..

Issue #1 I have about 1,000 attributes. what is the easiest way to place all the attributes and information in the 1.correct columns of the attribute file. For example: v_attribute_options_name_1_1. I have to create v_attribute_options_name_2_1, v_attribute_options_name_3_1. 1,000 times. Then I have to do the same thing with v_attribute_values_name_1_1_1. etc.. for all the different fields,

So all these fields would have to be filled in at least one time before I can copy them down on the csv spreadsheet.

v_products_model v_attribute_options_id_1 v_attribute_options_name_1_1 v_attribute_values_id_1_1 v_attribute_values_price_1_1 v_attribute_values_name_1_1_1 v_attribute_values_id_1_2 v_attribute_values_price_1_2 v_attribute_values_name_1_2_1 v_attribute_values_id_1_3 v_attribute_values_price_1_3 v_attribute_values_name_1_3_1

Issue #2 So each for each item (v_products_model) I would have to put a 0 in each v_attribute_values_price_1_1 field related to that product model.. Does anyone have or know of a program or excel formula that would auto copy correctly the 0's that are needed in this field to matcht the product model to the attribute.

I have a database with the correct attributes to choices for each item

Not sure if this makes sense to anyone, other than someone who has experienced this as well.

Thanks to anyone who can assist..

Hiya! Sorry to hear your having problems with attributes. Can you attached the actual file you are uploading, or PM me so I can get it off line? This will really help to find the problem.

thanks,

Hi Walton,

I think you are mixing up EP 4.0 with some other version of EP. I EP4 the _1 refers to language 1 (i.e. english by default in most installs). So you would never have something like _1_1, _1_2!

I would suggest that you take one of your products, and from within the admin, correctly create your attribes on that product. Then export the basic attribute sheet. This will provide a road map for you... and please read the (admittedly scant) documentation no attribute importing from the download package.

Hope this gets you started on the right foot.

Re: EasyPopulate 4.0 Support Thread

That's exactly what I did. Was export after creating a few in the admin. I am not sure what version I of EP i have. I looked at the admin/tools/EP but I don't know the version. What I downloaded was for Zencart 1.5. I will look for it. However I will I still have the same issue with trying to place each attribute in the correct column 1 at a time?

My version is available here at github as version 4.0.22 - Beta 6-10-2012 which is displayed on the Easy Populate 4 tools page.

Thank you I have 1 question. Can I use the same product number for my items in v_products_id and in v_products_model..If not does that mean I have to create the same number for each of the same v_products_models. Did that make sense?

One more thing. Using you latest mod now. Inserted about 10 products with attributes. Downloaded the FullEP and AttributesEP files. Then deleted the products in admin. Tried to import the products back no problem. Imported the attribute file and it imports with no errors but the attributes don't show up. What am I doing wrong?

Also I don't understand what you mean by "please use OpenOffice to Export your CSV file" I am using Open Office but how do I export using Open Office?

Are you referring to the detailed attribute sheet? If so, you do not modify ANY of the first several columns. I've explained this before. You have to create your BASIC attributes first. Then you can download and set all the micro information with the DETAILED sheet. You have to remember that the detail sheet refers to a specific product+option name+option value in the database. So you cannot modify the first columns.
