Can I add an external URL to a category?

Hi there :smile:

I'm going to do my best to explain what I am trying to accomplish. Here's my website: https://www.funwrappers.ca and I am using the most current version of ZC.

I currently have only my own products that I create on my website. I am wishing to act as an affiliate with a company that offers drop shipping to add to my inventory. The affiliate company is able to create a page that looks similar to my website. I am thinking the easiest way to link to their pages would be to use ez pages and insert the external URL, however, I am wondering if those ez pages can be moved to show up in the Categories side box (that I have renamed Products) so that all my products are showing up in the same area.

Any other suggestions on how I can accomplish my website goal are very much welcomed.

Not commenting pro or con on the wisdom of this approach, but there is a mod in Free Addons for categories and ez-pages in one sidebox.

Now a comment: Is it a good idea to have part of your regular main product navigation take visitors off of your site to someone else's, with no assurance they will come back?

I did think about that, however, they will be directed to my page within the affiliate's site not the affiliate's site itself, if that makes sense. They can still access my homepage from my affiliate site by clicking on my logo in the top left corner such that they can do on my regular website as well.

I'll check out that mod but would still like to see if there is an easier way rather than adding yet another mod to my website. I'm a newbie so adding and learning mods is time consuming :)

What you are asking for is by definition a mod; installing a pre-built one is probably safer than trying to code it yourself.

There is one alternative, but it involves skillful CSS manipulation of the sideboxes' display. If you are not experienced in CSS, I wouldn't advise trying it on your own.

The affiliate page you describe does sound reasonably safe for you.
