Filtering "New Orders" on admin home

Hello,

Is there a way to have the "New Orders" box on the admin home only show orders with a status of Open? That way, they would actually be new orders, and not orders that have been processed and/or shipped.

I tried a few Google and forum searches and didn't really get a clear answer.

No, but there are filter links on the left side of the screen, which you can click on to see only orders that are assigned to that particular status.
