Demo site will not install

I am upgrading from 1.3.9f to 1.5 on a Linux server. My active site is in the root directory, and I am using a SSL certificate. I have not done any customizations, just template, add-ons and text changes. I am following the directions carefully. I downloaded the files, ftped them to my site into a "demo" folder. I am following the instructions for installing Zencart that I found in https://www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=107. I changed the names on the config files and set the permissions to 777 as directed. When I point to the demo folder, my active site comes up, not the demo site nor the installer page. I have also pointed directly to mysite/demo/zc_install/index.php. I removed all of the files and re-ftped the files. No change. How do I get to the install screen?

I just figured it out - Dummy me- I am on a Linux site, and the folder name was Demo. I was trying to navigate to demo. I forgot that Linus is case sensitive!!
