Where do i upload my XML sitemap to?

Im currently in the process of creating an XML sitemap for my site and are just wondering where to upload it to. Any help would be fantastic.

It goes in the root of the site. If you're using the mod for doing this from the add-ons section, it will automatically place it there. Then in your Google Webmaster Tools account, you would link it.

Not using the mod, doing it externally as i didnt know about the mod. Will look into the mod thing though. Is it easy to install?

ok. I have read the install guide and not sure if i would be able to do it or not. I still quite new to this. It says i need to back up my files etc. and it all seems a bit complicated for me! :(

Backing up your files is standard practice and should be done as a matter or course. On a new site such as yours backing stuff up is a very quick process. In addition, if you use the mod, you know that the map is being produced correctly for Zen Cart.

How would you recommend i back them up? Would prefer to use the mod cause its done correctly.

Backing up your site is a two-step process; your files and your database. For your files, you would use your FTP program. For your database, you would use the export function in phpMyadmin. Create folders on your local drive for each, and back them up to there.

Ok thanks. Think i will leave that sort of thing to my designer. Dont have access to cpanel. Only ftp. Just thought it would be useful if i could do the add ons etc.. myself. Need to learn how to do it someday. Thanks anyway. :smile:
