I have a customer from Germany whose state is Rheinland-Palatinate. However it doesnt appear on the list of states that drop down when Germany is selected. I tuened off the display states as drop down in the admin, thinking it would let me write it in but that doesnt appear to change the behavior.

Any thoughts as to how to solve this?

I am using Zen Cart 1.5.1, Database Patch Level: 1.5.1.

I too am having trouble with the missing German states.

There are something like 9 missing states!

My customers from Germany cannot complete the transaction, because they cannot select their proper state. There is a mismatch with their credit card.

As anyone familiar with Germany knows, the state is totally irrelevant to the German address.

I have read another thread where someone suggested some things, but this has not helped. What would be good is for the missing states to be added. I cannot understand how half of them could be entered, and the others forgotten.

Apparently the German version of Zen Cart has had these issues resolved, but English is my native language. I have German customers that I wish to service.....

The 16 German states have been around for a long time, since at least v1.3.8 ...

I am not sure where you may have lost any of them but you should be able to add your missing states using any of the inserts from:
