Flat rate shipping for only some items.

I drop ship from my manufacturers and some items (xray film markers) only weigh ounces yet the manufacturers charge a flat $9.95 to ship regardless of the number of markers ordered. The flat rate module when turned on adds itself to every product on my site, not just the items I would like it added to. On top of that, the other shipping methods are still included for these markers which calculates a shipping cost that is less than that charged by the manufacturer. I want to add a Flat Rate Shipping charge to items of my choice, not ZC's choice and vary the amount of that flat rate depending on the item. I also need to turn off the other shipping choices when I add the flat rate.

Any ideas???
