Order history missing but paypal payment sent

I have an order that came through our site
https://www.eyecandydecalswholesale.com

Version: 1.3.9h

that the order history is missing the paypal notification sent but not e-mail confirming the order and it doesn't show up in the zc_admin panel.

I resent the IPN in paypal and it said failed a few times then said "sent" finally but nothing showed up still.

I installed recover cart sales mod but nothing shows there either.

Anyway for me to figure this out?

Switch from Paypal IPN to the much more reliable Paypal Express.

Will that help me recover this one order or will this only help with futuure orders?

No, you can't retrieve that order (so far as I know) but you shouldn't have that problem again with Express.
