Mod not showing in menu

If this is not the proper location for this subject please move.
I have run into a problem installing 3rd party modules in version 1.5. The mod’s that appears to not be upgraded to version 1.5 after installing patch.sql do not show up in Configuration menu. As an example USPS Auto-fill after installing the SQL patch the mod is not listed in the Configuration menu. Checking my MySql data base shows the mod was installed and when running the program found it works Correctly. Not being php knowledgeable I don’t know if it breaks security side.

It looks like we have a 3 part issue in upgrading to 1.5.
· Function

• Mod function OK but is not listed in Configuration menu. Have to enter items using MySQL

My first question, what is added to the SQL patch to allow the mod to be listed in the Configuration menu?

Second question---Which is better, keep using zencart 1.3.9h (until all mod’s needed have been upgraded to version 1.5) or go ahead and use version 1.5 and assuming some mod’s don’t meet 1.5 security but shopping cart function OK?

You need to read the section of this forum about upgrading to 1.5.

Basically, 1.5 has changed the way admin pages are registered.

I read that and being in geek talk did not at first realize the connection. After reading seems to be major issue.

So does this mean stay with 1.3.9h until all the mods needed have been updated?

Depends on your level of expertise. But if the geek talk all sounds like gibberish then I would say that the best bet is to stay with 1.3.9 for the time being. Assuming that you actually need the modules that are causing problems.

There is nothing wrong with 1.3.9 it is just that 1.5 is better and is taking a major step towards PCI compliance.
