SLOW site load times

Hi all,

I'm trying to go live pretty soon and my site is CRAWLING in terms of speed and loading times. I don't know if this is an issue with my host, or if it is due to something else like database misconfiguration. Here is a link to my site: http://tinyurl.com/7pnwxps

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: SLOW site load times

Doesn't seem that slow to me, but slow loading sites are almost always caused by hosting issues. You can turn on Admin - Configuration - Logging - Display The Page Parse Time and check the results here:

Thanks for the reply. I checked the parse/query times and they are both super high.

Here are the results of my "Raw Ingredients" product listing page:

Parse Time: 9.811 - Number of Queries: 618 - Query Time: 9.4572934910584

According to the link you gave me, it says:

If Query Time is larger than, or almost as large as, Parse Time then it means that you have a major bottleneck in the database performance.

If both Query Time and Parse Time are almost the same, then the majority of the time is taken up by database activities. If those numbers are larger than 1 or 2 seconds, then your server could probably benefit from some tuning by the server administrator.

This definitely applies to my numbers. Can someone offer some suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Re: SLOW site load times

Yes. Find a new host or get the one you have to move you to a less oversold server. There's nothing you can do yourself. Who's your host ?

Dreamhost. Do you have any recommendations on an alternative?
