Purchase Order - can I convert to a CC order?

Hi,

I decided to allow purchase orders as an option and came in today to find that HALF of my customers selected this option, clearly not understanding what a PO is. Now I have to call them each and get credit card info.

Is there a better way? Can they go back into an order and pay with a credit card? This is very messy. Can I send an invoice to them and have them pay, similar to a Paypal request for funds?

Is there a better way that I am not thinking of? Thanks in advance.

Do you have enough commercial customers that a purchase order option really makes sense ?

It could be many of the customers who used the PO option were just trying to see if you would ship the goods without payment.

I have a couple every day. It's not a huge issue but it sure was a nice option. I was shocked at how many people chose that option. We have a lot of teen customers, so I guess I shouldn't be shocked.
