Event Registration: Requiring a Signup Form per item added to the Cart?

Hi,

I'm trying to set up the cart for event registrations. For example, I want someone's parent to be able to sign their kid up for a summer camp. So, we need to be able to collect the kid's (person participating in the event)'s info before the order is processed. We must have the participant's info linked with the payer's info as well. We need customizable items on the event registration form too. Also, I'd like one paying person to be able to sign multiple participants up, inputing different personal information per item in the cart. Say, a Boy Scout troop leader wants to sign his kids up for a rafting trip. I'd like him to just order "x" camps and fill out "x" registration forms.

Also, it would be nice if we could customize the required registration form (and verify it's filled out correctly before payment) for each different event.

Any ideas on the best way to set that up? Or, would I be better off looking other places than zen cart?
