Different Images for listing view and product view

Hey,

I've been trying to figure this out for a while, I have researched relentlessly. But I'm trying to have a different image for the listing view and product page. I have yet to figure out how to do this. If anyone can help me figure this out, or point me to a tutorial, or even give me a run down on how to do it, it would be great appreciated.

The product listing page uses the small or base image which is uploaded when you create/edit a product. The product info page uses the medium image, which you can upload separately by FTP. It needs to have the same filename as the base image with _MED added, and be the same filetype, but it can be a completely different image if you want. Likewise with the large image you get when clicking on "larger image".

Leaving my footprint here so I can find it later! I also need to redo my images, as I now have so many that pages are taking too long to load.
