Moving to a new server... HELP!

I have moved my ZC to a new server. I followed all the instructions on the following link:

Did everything it said, although it is very unclear as to why I do not transfer over my configure.php files, and it does not tell me HOW to edit or WHAT to edit in there.

I tried going to my admin panel and this is the error message I get

2.Your /includes/configure.php and/or /admin/includes/configure.php file contains invalid path information and/or invalid database-connection information.
If you recently edited your configure.php files for any reason, or maybe moved your site to a different folder or different server, then you'll need to review and update all your settings to the correct values for your server.

When I go directly to my website, everything is fine, along with making purchases.. I just can't get into the admin control panel.

I have searched everywhere for this problem.

That's really rather self-explanatory. You need to edit the configure.php files to update them with the information for your new server. Remember that these files are usually set as read only so you will need to change the permissions before editing, and then back after you're done.

I agree, self-explanatory! However, when I did edit them and change the absolute hosting path in both of these files everywhere it needed it. I then get an error message that it cannot connect to the database...

in:
[select * from project_version WHERE project_version_key = 'Zen-Cart Database' ]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

Any input on this by chance?

The hosting paths are one setting, the database information is another. You need to enter the database user name, database name, database password, and the database server - which is almost always "localhost".
