Does it support these features?

I'm struggling to find a decent shopping cart for digital products. I was installing Avactis but it was lacking these basic features. Does Zen Cart support these?

• Customizing order confirmation emails per product to send information about downloads, bonuses, information and more
• Generating/sending license key with the purchase of a product
• Integrating with a Wordpress membership plugin

Surprisingly enough, the first two features are supported by neither Avactis or CS-Cart.

Avactis doesn't support recurring payments either and I've read that Zen Cart does support it. However, I believe it then has to store credit card information in the database? Can that bring additional issues, concerns or risks? The only other option would be 1shoppingcart... with a hefty bill of $99 per month!

If it doesn't support these features, what other options do I have? I'm looking for something that will support the growth of my business in the long-term without bringing a heavy monthly bill.

Sorry, but Zen Cart will not support those requirements out of the box. You may be able to do it with some substantial modifications.

How come no shopping cart software seems to support these basic features?

These are basic features of Plimus and Ejunkie (except recurring billing).

Ejunkie doesn't support my new merchant account so staying with it isn't an option either. Is there any other option besides 1shoppingcart?

Those first two features are "basic" only to a store selling registered digital goods - in other words, a very small subset of all stores. They are irrelevant to all others. The WP membership plugin is also specialized, but may have a different and wider potential user base.

I doubt you will find any platform that has prioritized these features unless you pay for it.
