Expected Products still showing in Product Listing

I've recently installed Zen cart for a client v1.5.0

The problem we are having is she wants to be able to add products to the store & be released on a certain day.

When adding the products, if it is marked in-stock & given a future Date Available, it still shows up in the Products Listing.

I've gone through & set up all of the Show Upcoming Products to 0 so it's not showing up under Upcoming Products, it's just showing in the product listing.

Store URL: http://kellybelldesigns.com/store
If you click on Add-ons & goto page 2, you will see Test Future Product showing. I've set the Date Available on it to 2012-03-01

Re: Expected Products still showing in Product Listing

As far as I recall, setting a future value for the 'date available' does not prevent the product from being listed - merely indicates on the product info page a date when it comes available.

There is no in-built functionality to automatically list the product on a given date.

Re: Expected Products still showing in Product Listing

So basically, its impossible to have products loaded into the store ahead of time and disabled, then be automatically enabled on the day set in the Date Available box.

Re: Expected Products still showing in Product Listing

You could set them to products_status = 0, that is the setting of:
Products Status: Out of Stock

then write a function similar to how the Featured or Specials work that can enable the Products by changing them from products_status = 0 to products_status = 1 on the correct date ...

That's a good idea Ajeh. I have recipes that I want to publish at a rate of one a week - I'll definitely give this a go
