product listing problem.

hi

i got a problem for product listing
suppose the main category is called (AUDIO)
and there are 2 sub categories under that (HEADPHONES)(SPEAKERS)

the problem is when you click on the (AUDIO) category, no product is shown, i assumed that both products from (HEADPHONES) and (SPEAKERS) are shown.

i have gone through all configuration setting in admin area, but failed to fix that.

i have set [Categories - Always Show on Main Page] to 0, as i do not wish to show categories on Main page, i want all products in the subcategories to be shown when the buyer is browsing the main categories. please kindly help. any help would be appreciated. thank you.

please see here for actual situtation.

i wish to achieve this. when clicking the [clock and watch] main category, both block and watch are shown, when clicking the [clock] subcategory, only clock are shown. thank you.

Re: product listing problem.

I believe that you can link your products to the main category to have them show up in both the main and sub-category.

So for example in your "Audio" Section you would go to the bottom category. I will use In Ear as an example.

Go to your catalog and go to the in ear catalog->audio->headphones->in ear

On your list of products you will see an actions attribute. Under than you will see a little c with a blue circle around it. This will copy your product (or link it) to another category. For the product to show up under both headphone and audio you will have to copy (or link) that product to both those categories.

That should be the easiest way to have products show up in your top level and sub level categories.

Re: product listing problem.

hello

i have tried your solution.
the products in subcategory could not be linked to the main category.
because if subcategory exist under main category, product could not be added to the main category.

there is a note written under the catalog page inside admin area.

NOTE: Category has SubCategories
Products cannot be added

anyway, thank you for your help.
