PHP.ini date timezone issue

Hi i'm running ubuntu, with apache,mysql,php running all fine, i've my file at /var/www/zen/ and when i try to http://localhost/zen/zc_install/ gives an error"ERROR: date.timezone not set in php.ini. Please contact your hosting company to set the timezone in the server PHP configuration before continuing." i've change the php.ini and set date timezone to Europe/Lisbon and i still have the same message date timezone....Any ideias? Thanks

You probably need to restart Apache for the change to take effect.

Yes, that's correct. I had the same problem and it was corrected when I restarted the local Apache.

Then you're either making incorrect edits in the file, or you're editing the wrong file or the wrong copy of the file.

Again, there are lots of online resources which explain how to properly configure PHP and the many other tasks involved to learn to run your own webserver.
